Universities across the United States have major operational decisions to make as campuses closed down for the remainder of the 2020 spring semester due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which could also impact enrollment for the next school year.
On Wednesday, May 27th from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. (ET), REMI Economist Jungjun Park, Ph.D. will be hosting a webinar, “Modeling the Economic and Demographic Impacts of Higher Education on the Regional Economy in REMI.” During this presentation, Dr. Park will discuss previous university impact studies using REMI, which explore the various impacts that higher education has on regional economies throughout the country.
Dr. Park will also be providing a technical discussion and demonstration on how to model the impacts of higher education in REMI. This includes accounting for elements such as direct institutional employment and spending, student and visitor spending, graduate earnings, and labor productivity.
This webinar on May 27th will explain the methodological approaches implemented in various university impact reports before reviewing the key findings from this collection of higher education assessments.
