Infrastructure is an essential element of local, state, regional, and national economic development. Therefore, planners must consider how the socioeconomic effects will be distributed across all members of the population.
We will be hosting our upcoming Washington, D.C. policy luncheon, “Infrastructure and Socioeconomic Indicators (SEI),” on Thursday, October 28th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Metro Center.
This two-part discussion will explore infrastructure projects’ socioeconomic and fiscal impacts and their influence on labor markets, the environment, and regional economic growth.
To begin, Riley Durkin will analyze the economic impacts of transit and infrastructure investments in a post-COVID world. Afterward, Peter Evangelakis, Ph.D., and Haozheyi Guan will provide a detailed overview of the economic, equitable, and environmental effects of transit investments using the REMI regional input-output model.
