Forecasting future oil prices is a complex process as there are numerous variables to consider that are subject to frequent and unexpected changes.
Please feel free to join REMI Managing Economic Associate Chris Judson on Tuesday, January 12th from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. (ET) for a special REMI guest webinar that will feature Michael Lynch, President of Strategic Energy & Economic Research, Inc.
“Predicting the Price of Oil” will explore the historical data and trends related to oil pricing in this country before explaining what factors contribute to projecting the future of the resource. Mr. Lynch will review several forecasts from previous decades and discuss why the various inferences from those time periods did not come to fruition.
This guest webinar describes some of the key events in the oil pricing timeline and how they impacted the industry on a global scale. Mr. Lynch is prepared to highlight which technological advancements played significant roles in adjusting the fossil fuel supply chain and subsequently influenced the costs associated with oil production.
Also included in this presentation will be an evaluation of the differences between the short- and long-term forecasting of oil prices, as well as an examination of which aspects affect the price of oil the most.
