REMI is proud to announce the official launch of our new E3+ model, a dynamic modeling platform that accounts for the multifaceted relationships among the energy sector, the environment, and the economy.
REMI Senior Economist Peter Evangelakis, Ph.D., and Economic Associate Shane Vyskocil will be presenting our free policy luncheon, “Energy, Environment, and the Economy: REMI Launches E3+,” in Annapolis, Maryland on Friday, February 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. that will describe the E3+ model’s capabilities in terms of evaluating energy efficiency approaches, the value of energy investments, and other environmental projects for their corresponding effects on a region’s economy and demographic outlook.
We look forward to partnering with organizations and agencies as more industries show interest in understanding the economic and environmental impacts of changes in energy production and consumption, as well as the economic impacts of ever-strengthening environmental disasters.
REMI’s E3+ adds numerous features to our flagship PI+ model, including built-in spending profiles for the construction and operation of six different types of generation facilities, an energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions module that generates a dynamic carbon footprint, and a resilience module that allows for the evaluation of various mitigation investments, in addition to more innovative elements new to REMI’s suite of models.
In its first year, the E3+ model has proven invaluable for clients on multiple economic impact analyses related to energy and the environment, and REMI is excited for its official launch in 2020. This luncheon presentation will also include overviews of energy project assessments completed using E3+, as well as explanations on the methodological approaches implemented.
