States are responsible for some of the most critical policy decisions. This is especially true when federal policy is at a standstill, and state policy makers are looking for new approaches for developing their economies.
REMI invites you to attend our upcoming seminar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Thursday, September 13th, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. titled “States Take Charge: Developing Economic Policy at Home.”
Our staff will be addressing a range of policy questions, such as the economic effects of legalizing sports betting, the impacts of tariffs, and how Amazon’s second headquarters will affect a regional economy.
This seminar also features a guest presentation by Deputy Secretary Eric Kalivoda, Ph.D. and Planning Engineer John Fu, Ph.D. from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development on the expected impacts associated with their organization’s current long-range plan, as well as a discussion by Economist Daniel Groft, Ph.D. from the Louisiana Department of Revenue that analyzes the effects of government spending changes on the state budget.
